Welcome to the Voices of a People's History Project
Created by the
Lewis University Instructional Strategies and Learning Communities for Teaching Social Studies, P-12 class
This project contains primary source documents from Howard Zinn's book, Voices of a People's History. The undergraduate candidates then adapted the primary source document so that the document is accessible for students with a variety of educational abilities. Finally, candidates critically evaluated a section of a K-12 Social Studies or History textbook and compared the information contained within with Howard Zinn's interpretation of that same historical period, looking for whose story is presented, whose omitted or slanted.
